Berggasthof Oberkälberstein in Berchtesgaden

The food was good, but it wasn't quite enough for 5 stars, because e.g. the spaetzle were already a bit dry. The soups were all very good.

We came to Berchtesgarden as a group of 6 and discovered the restaurant at the end of our holiday and tried it out right away. That's why I only rate the restaurant with five stars. The food was very good. There is traditional and seasonal cuisine from Bavaria. The food was served to all of us at the same time and was therefore warm and smells great, and the taste is very convincing. Vegetaria can also be found on the menu, but it is difficult for vegans (possibly if there is something seasonal). The staff is great, very attentive and around every 10-15 minutes or asks about them. So really great. The hotel with restaurant is located on a mountain and therefore you have a great view from above. There is a small game fence in the rear of the facility. Just go up and experience! :)

I have nothing to complain about 👍The food was really tasty and plentiful. We were there at noon - free choice of seats. For the evening, I strongly recommend making reservations. All tables were already occupied. I would say that alone speaks for itself. 😁

We have been there several times to eat 👌 consistently very tasty food, large portions, nice atmosphere, very friendly and nice staff. Excellent Bavarian cuisine. Make sure to reserve tables in advance, without a reservation .... it will be difficult 😉

We had a great experience at the Berggasthof Oberkälberstein tonight. The waitresses were super attentive, always ready for a relaxed saying and fulfilled all of our wishes. The food was great, but very large portions, no one has to go hungry here. 100% recommendable keep it up.

We were there in January and felt very comfortable. Cozy rooms and a beautiful inn. You meet a friendly, warm, relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast is lovingly prepared and you can also eat delicious in the inn. There is something for everyone on the menu and the service was very friendly. If you can walk well, you can safely leave your car behind and start activities from there. We will be back.

A very home-like place with friendly owners and staff. The room was small but clean and cozy. Buffet breakfast offered a wide choice of food. Evenings spent in the restaurant downstairs are very pleasant - traditional decor, lively atmosphere and hearthy portions.... and beer! On top of it all is the beautiful view from tarrrace. The location is very quiet but you need to be in good shape to get here on foot from the Berchtesgaden center so fittness practice is included free of charge. A place definitely worth staying at!

Very good food ... home-cooked food like from mothers ... finally a hot and tasty liver dumpling soup. The pork roast butter soft and own sauce ... the man can cook. A great view included. Furnishings from the 80s.

This is the second time coming here and both times the food has been great. The portions are large so either come with a big appetite or share dishes. The view and atmosphere are also a reason you must visit if in the area. This dessert is a must have too.

My wife and I walked here from our B&B for dinner one night. The food was good and the view was great, perfect for watching the sunset.

A restaurant with an amazing view with hearty German fare on offer. The beer was cold, the service friendly and the food good. It's a bit of a walk from the bottom of the town but worth the effort.

Great historic hotel. Well equipped and excellent food. Terrace is fantastic view point and dine.

A very nice and cosy place. If you feel like breathing fresh air, laying in bed and enjoying looking at Watzman, it is definitely the best place to stay. If adults will enjoy the stay, than definitely for kids will be a place to really like. They can feed and touch deers, goose and rabbits :). It is clean, good room prices and amazing food. All the ingredients are comming from natural sources and the taste is something that you will never forget.
